Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Healthcare institutions in the Netherlands are facing difficult times where filling vacancies for nurses and carers is concerned. Kans in de Zorg promises to become a valuable addition to the labour market and is specialised in the healthcare sector. A new intermediary in the healthcare workforce that consciously focuses on the recruitment of a special target group: highly educated Dutch-speaking healthcare personnel from abroad who are familiarising themselves with our country as nurses. And somewhat more broadly: anyone who is looking for work in the healthcare sector that they truly feel passionate about. This entails recruitment whereby talented people from abroad are screened on, among other things, their level of education, experience, abilities and motivation in order to eventually be given a chance in the healthcare sector in the Netherlands. During the recruitment process we don’t only focus on language, but we also provide intensive support and guidance aimed at social inclusion, Dutch culture and customs. During the present situation, it has become obvious that the shortage of healthcare personnel in the Netherlands has serious consequences for both employees and patients. Employees are falling by the wayside due to the high levels of work pressure, and patients do not always receive the care that they are entitled to. The impact is clearly visible: constant work pressure on employees due to the shortage of first-rate certified healthcare personnel, which jeopardises the provision of healthcare for those who need it most. This can and must be done differently! Kans in de Zorg was founded with this in mind. With the combination of their expertise, knowledge and experience, Kans in de Zorg connects first-rate and certified healthcare personnel from abroad with clients who are the best match for them. Kans in de Zorg is aware of what is at stake in the market and what its clients need. Our employees have been part of the Kans in de Zorg family from the outset. We believe in a sense of belonging and are well acquainted with the South European culture. We are on hand for our employees outside of work hours as well. Dinners, parties and trips are in principle celebrated together so that each employee gets a warm welcome in a strange country. We also take time to listen to our employees outside of work if they run into problems.

Our Story

Kans in de Zorg is an initiative of Vladan Mikovic and Dragan Jovic, who are motivated by their own experiences. Vladan Mikovic has a Yugoslavian background, knows the education system and has been working in healthcare for his entire career. Dragan Jovic was born in the Netherlands, has experience with the secondment of healthcare workers within the healthcare sector and is a passionate problem solver. The mutual idea arose to join forces and, in this way, offer highly qualified healthcare personnel from the former Yugoslavia the same opportunities in the Netherlands. By delving into and drawing from their own experiences in education, and the potential and culture of these future healthcare workers, they know that a qualitative contribution is made to both the standard of healthcare provision as well as the professional development of future colleagues
